Manor House Facilities
Kitchen
The house, built around 1820, has been restored by its present owners to a high standard. Inside the house, the entrance hall connects to the farmhouse kitchen, which has many modern features, including a gas hob and oven, an electric fan oven, a microwave, two fridges, a dishwasher, and a built-in electric steamer, with granite worksurfaces throughout. The kitchen leads to the dining area, with a dining table seating twelve.
Library and Lounge
In the living area, armchairs and a sofa surround a stone fireplace, where guests can light log fires on cool evenings, supplemented by the oil-fired central heating. There is also a hi-fi system, a TV with satellite channels, and a DVD player. On a mezzanine a step up from the lounge, the well stocked library is a feature very popular with our guests.
Entrance Hall
The kitchen and lounge both lead off the central hallway where there is also a separate WC and small cloakroom area. The beautiful original curved stone staircase leads to the bedrooms which are on two floors.
Bedrooms
A major feature of our house are the six bedrooms. They comprise of three double rooms, two twin rooms and one which can be either a large double or twin as required. Tastefully furnished with a mix of French and English antiques, each bedroom has an en suite bathroom – a rarity here in France. Five have a bath and shower, while one has a shower suite.
Gardens
The private inner courtyard garden, for those sunny lunches and dinners al fresco, leads to the garden surrounding the 12 x 5 metre swimming pool. An area in which to relax and soak up the sun, the pool area has ample space and seating to accommodate upto 12 people.
Surrounding the house are mature, spacious gardens with Walnut, Apple and peach trees.
Outside
A Laundry room complete with washing machine, dryer and freezer.
Gites
Also available at Le Manoir des Granges are 4 separate gites, comprising three one bedroom units and one three bedroomed unit. The gites are totally self contained and can be available separately, or combined with the main house to provide accommodation for up to 24 adults. Our accommodation is available all year round.
