Les Granges offers luxury holiday accommodation in the heart of the Dordogne, France. Sleeps 12 adults comfortably; all rooms offer en-suite facilities, baths, central heating and exclusive use of the swimming pool.
Luxury Accommodation for 12 Adults
Situation
Le Manoir des Granges is situated in the village
of Le Moustier close to the important medieval town of Sarlat, it sits just
across the road from the river Vesere, and opposite the important French heritage
site Le Roque de St Christophe. These natural cavities were occupied by cave
dwellers approximately 55 000 years ago. Later, during the Middle Ages and
up until the Renaissance Period, they gradually changed to become a fortress
and protected town.
The village of Le Moustier enjoys a Bakery & general store, and a Bar & restaurant,
situated opposite the medieval church.
The area is regarded as the centre of the tourist area of the Dordogne, "the
land of a thousand chateaux". All important sites are within easy reach
by car. Locally there is many a pastime available to our guests, Golf, Horse
Riding, Canoeing, Cycling, walking, and just enjoying seeing the sites - and
of course enjoying the Perigourdian Cuisine (regarded by the French as the
gourmet centre of France).

The house has been recently refurbished in traditional country house style and offers the very best in spacious rustic living without losing any of the comforts of home. Surrounding the house are mature, spacious gardens with our own orchard, consisting of Pear, Apple, Peach, Plum and Walnut trees. |

Gites
Also available at Le Manoir des Granges is a totally separate gite complex comprising three one bedroom and a three bedroom unit. The gites are totally self contained and can be available separately, or combined with the main house to provide accommodation for up to 24 adults. Our accommodation is available all the year round.

Activities and Things to DoThis rural part of France is rich with natural beauty and history. It's magnificent chateaux, fully matured gardens and ancient limestone caves certainly leave you amazed. It is a real experience to explore or to return to. The Dordogne offers many opportunities for lovers of sporting pursuits. Cycling, Canoeing, Walking, Golfing and Swimming are just a few activities available locally. |
Work and Play
For those who unfortunately cannot leave their work at home, Le Paradis camp site, very close by, offers our guests the use of their business centre for an Internet connection, fax facilities and use of their computers if necesary.
Historic Towns and Villages
Les Granges, here at Le Moustier, in the heart of the Dordogne, is surrounded by places of historic interest. These include the medieval town of Sarlat, Les Eyzies - site of the oldest prehistoric human remains, the vibrant city of Periguex and many traditional villages, each with a character of their own, including: Domme, Beynac, and Montignac. This part of France is often described as the land of 1001 chateaux.
We are only fifteen minutes drive from the caves of Lascaux II - famous for it's prehistoric paintings.
After a day spent exploring the gems of the Dordogne, why not end the day with a glass of one of the many fine wines available in this region, or enjoying some regional speciality cuisine at a local restaurant.
